Ms. Olympia 2014 Event Summary

This years Mr and Ms Olympia is already around the corner and it is therefore important that one takes a few notes on how the event is likely to take place. Mr. Olympia 2014 Event Preview

 

Mr Olympia has produced household names in the past and these people have smashed the common stereotype that they are not very intellectual. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the perfect example of this. He was Mr Olympia from 1970-1975 and he worked extremely hard to get to there. After this he then starred in the terminator series which grossed over $1.4 Billion across 4 films so obviously it was a huge success. Then to add to his glittering career Arnold then became the governor of California for 8 years.

To compete in the Mr. Olympia competition there are strict qualification rules so only the best of the best get into the competition. If you finished in the top 4 of any division in the previous Olympia then you have qualified for the Olympia but this doesn’t help if you are trying to burst onto the scene. If you have entered the Arnold Classic or International then if you finish inside the top 3 of any of their divisions then you have qualified for the Olympia. You can also qualify through the New York Pro competition which is a prestigious event where the top 2 in each division make it through to the Olympia. If you are an amateur then you will be happy to hear that if you finish first in any other recognized competition then you have made it through to the Olympia and this includes the Amateur World Championships.

The competitors in Mr Olympia are judged on their muscularity and the condition of their bodies. This can be hard to judge and the judges in this competition take their time to decide who the best in each of their opinions is. They make each competitor line up in number order and then they normally judge them 3 at a time. During this the bodybuilders will flex their muscles to try and impress the judges. It is all about presentation which is why they try to make themselves look immaculate all over.

 

Then when they have decided who is the best they will put them through to the next round and this will continue until they are down to the final 10. This 10 is then presented on stage where the process begins again. Americans have dominated the sport and for the past 14 years the winners of the competition have been American although before that Dorian Yates of England retained the title for 5 years. The winner for 2014 has been Phil Heath and according to reports he does have the potential to be the one of the greatest.

These bodybuilder help build their muscles up by having special machines. These machines are designed to work certain areas of your body more than the standard gym equipment and they are very specialized. The athletes will often workout 2-3 times a day and after each workout they will in take large amounts of protein so they can build up their muscles after every workout.

In addition to this the average professional body builder will take in over 5000 calories a day which is double the advised intake for a normal person. All of this preparation can cost a lot of money but when you are at the top the prizes are huge. For Mr Olympia you can win $155,000 and a brand new car. This also comes with sponsorship from major protein companies who want the faces of bodybuilding to recommend their products.

What makes the World Beauty Fitness & Fashion championship event so amazing?

 

The World Beauty Fitness and Fashion championships feature more than twenty competitions from all over the world, which includes Europe, Australia, North America and Africa. This is the most prestigious event in fitness and modeling and the very best professionals and amateurs meet on the stage. The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas will host the 2014 WBFF World Championships which commences with the amateur competitions and ends with the professional stage show.

There are 6 categories in which the fitness athletes and bodybuilders can take part and those divisions are men’s fitness model, men’s bodybuilding, diva figure, diva bikini, men’s muscle model and diva fitness model. The contestants are judged based on not only their physiques, but also how they present themselves. In order to improve their ratings, the competitors can wear costumes and even use props onstage. The models and athletes are also allowed to do photo shoots and make friends backstage.

Lindsay Messina, the current Bikini Diva champion, will not participate this year and this opens the door for the other competitors. However, the ladies will need to outclass three-time Pro Diva Fitness champion Andreia Brazier in order to achieve their dreams of winning the competition.

The primary goal of the WBFF World Championships is not to be the most muscular on the stage. WBFF are seeking for contestants who are marketable to photographers and modeling agencies.

The main attractions of the competition are obviously the female contestants. They wear all the gorgeous and glamorous outfits ranging from posing suits and bikinis, and the colorful evening gowns. Though the women are the epicenter of all the attraction in the WBFF, but one must not forget the men who are equally eye-catching. It is a great sight to see all the men on the stage with waspy waistlines, perfectly shaped jawlines and the washboard abs, which emulates the Hollywood style and physique. In the 2014 WBFF World Championships, it looks like it’s anybody’s game in the Muscle Model competition. South Africa’s Jaco de Bruyn is all set to outclass the returning champion A.J. Ellison, though it’s not that easy.

There are plenty of modeling opportunities in the WBFF for the contestants who assemble here from all parts of the world. Six new shows were added by the WBFF this year, and more will be included next season. The competitors use this competition to rejuvenate with their old friends apart from meeting agents and their agencies.
